Equality issues

• Black voluntary organisations directory, produced jointly with other agencies. click here
• Project employing worker - to support black and minority ethnic community (BME) groups in North Notts.  Project running anti-racism programme in county schools. Contact jennie@navo.org.uk
• ASK project seeking views and needs of BME substance misusers and their families
• Partner in North Notts Lesbian, Gay & Bisexual Development Group

Information service

• Monthly mailings: Bulletin 2-monthly, Families & Children’s mailing alternate months   click here for latest bulletin
• Increasing use of e-mail  and website for communications
• Signposting service by phone and through personal meeting

County Council

• Supports voluntary sector Liaison Group and County Voluntary Sector Partnership Forum
• Supports voluntary sector involvement in County Community Strategy (complementing Local Strategic Partnerships' work in each District).
• Supports voluntary sector involvement in County Social Policy Board.

Drug & Alcohol Action Team

• Continued agreement with DAAT to support community/voluntary sector links through service-providing projects, and participation in joint commissioning.  See also BME work above.

City

• NAVO part of Community Network linked to Local Strategic Partnership, particularly in our role as host of Families & Children's Forum

Volunteering

• As part of Change Up supports the development of the new organisation Volunteering Nottinghamshire.
• As part of Local Area Agreement supports work on Volunteering Stretch Target
• Has led Positive Images of Older People Volunteering photography project - click here for images
